Turning Donations into Support
The Helping Hand Process
01
Groups Donate Items
Each day of the auction is assigned to a local group, business, church, school, club, or civic organization. They bring in donated items, baked goods, handmade items, big ticket items, and more. These items become that day’s auction list.
02
Live Radio Auction
The Helping Hand Radio Auction airs Monday through Friday beginning at 12:30 pm and Saturday beginning at 12:00 pm during the auction season. Listeners tune in to hear the items, the bids, and the excitement as the community joins in.
03
Call In Your Bid
Anyone can bid. You simply listen to the broadcast, choose an item you want, and call in your bid. Bidding is fast paced, friendly, and a unique tradition for Henry County. If you win, your name is added to the pick up list for that day.
Participate In A Donor Day
Give Goods to Help Raise Funds
Each day is assigned to a local group that donates items and food to be auctioned. Groups include: Churches, schools or clubs, civic organizations, booster clubs, local businesses, nonprofits, families or memorial groups, volunteer organizations, etc.
check Items we welcome - Homemade food items like cakes and casseroles in addition to NEW household goods, gift baskets, gift cards, tools, toys, handmade items, home decor, services, collectibles, and furniture in excellent condition.
close Items we cannot accept - Broken items, expired food, hazardous materials, appliances that do not work, and items missing parts.
Volunteer Your Time
Join the Tradition and Serve with Us
Helping Hand depends on volunteers throughout the auction season. Volunteers help with answering phones, organizing items delivered by groups, labeling donations, assisting with check in, and helping with item pickup after the broadcast.
Sponsorship
Support Helping Hand in a Meaningful Way
Sponsorship plays a major role in making the Helping Hand Radio Auction possible. Local businesses, families, and organizations help fund the costs of running the auction, support the groups who host each day, and strengthen programs that serve Henry County all year long. Sponsorship is a simple and powerful way to invest in the community, gain visibility during the auction season, and stand alongside others who believe in helping their neighbors.
Give A Monetary Gift
Financially Support Our Cause
If you’re not able to be involved in the auction but would still like to support our cause, we accept one-time or re-occuring donations from individuals and businesses. A simple monetary donation helps fund grants for youth, seniors, health and well being, emergency services, and community welfare. You can give online, by mail, or in person.
★★★★★
“Being part of Helping Hand opened my eyes to how much this community cares for one another. Our group hosted a day for the first time last year, and we were blown away by the generosity of the bidders and the kindness of the volunteers. It felt good to know that the meals we cooked and the items we brought were helping fund programs that truly make a difference. If you have ever thought about getting involved, I can promise you it is one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever have.”
